Welcome to the City of Albany E-Newsletter. Published twice a month, the City of Albany E-Newsletter is filled with information about your local government and about exciting, healthy and informative events and activities in our community.

The City of Albany-Dougherty County business offices will be closed Monday, July 5th in observance of Independence Day 

Albany Police Department has put forth continuous effort in keeping our neighborhoods safe and free of crime. The 2010 Gang Task Force Meeting Schedule is now available.

The City of Albany Board of Commissioners Quarterly Meeting Schedule is now available.

Dougherty County Board of Commissioners Quarterly Meeting Schedule is now available.

Non-Emergency 311 Call Center is now available to assist you with local government service request and general information. The Center is open weekdays 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Simply dial 311 from your telephone or 229-878-3111.

Do you need assistance starting or expanding a business? Get help through the Business First program. For more information about the Business First program, click here.

COP-Line with Spanish Speaking Connection: The Albany Police Department has a telephone line to assist Spanish speaking citizens with reporting information concerning criminal activity and they can access the line 24-hours a day. Read more......

Albany Panthers 2010 Schedule: The Panthers are 7-1 and stand alone at the top of the SIFL with the league's best record. With two victories in the final five games, the Panthers will host the first round of the 2010 playoffs on July 10, 2010 at the Albany Civic Center.

YMCA AfterSchool Program Registration, Ongoing:
This program provides a fun and affordable after school care for children enrolled in Pre-K through 8th grade. Nutritious snacks, character development, academic enrichment, and fitness activities are included in the program.

Totally Teen Zone: TTZ is an award-winning program which has been developed as a safe, fun, free activity for teens ages 13-17. It includes music, dancing, contests, and video games. TTZ is open from 7:00 – 10:00 pm to the first 200 teens each program night. Call the Recreation and Parks Department at 430-5222 for further information.

Marine Corps Logistics Base 2010 Independence Day Celebration
: Join us for an evening of fun. Food, bouncies for the kids, rock climbing wall, K-9 dog demonstrations, 2010 Miss Georgia, patriotic music from the Albany Marine Band and fireworks at dark. Parking is limited so come early.

Flint Riverquarium Teacher Workshop K-2nd grade:
 Teachers will learn content behind the Georgia's Performance Standards focusing on sorting living and non-living materials, comparing similarities and differences, needs of life, life cycles, habitat changes, adaptations and classification of creatures that inhabit the Flint RiverQuarium and much of Georgia.
