Special Storm Debris Collection
Published on March 18, 2026
Dougherty County Public Works is launching a special debris collection program to assist with cleanup in unincorporated areas outside city limits.
To ensure debris is collected, residents should follow the schedule and guidelines below:
Deadline to place storm debris: Friday, April 10, 2026
Pickup dates: April 13–17, 2026
Guidelines for placement:
Location: Place debris in the right-of-way, between the sidewalk or ditch and the curb or street.
Obstructions: Do not place debris on or near water meters, fire hydrants, or under low-hanging trees or utility lines.
Separation: Sort debris into separate piles:
Vegetative debris: Tree branches, leaves and logs
Construction debris: Drywall, lumber and carpet
Metal debris: Metal roofing and damaged household appliances
Note: Debris placed after April 10 may not be collected during this cycle.
