Dougherty County Commissioners Honor Founder of Brie's Gift for Supporting Families Battling Leukemia

DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. — The Dougherty County Board of Commissioners heard an emotional presentation Monday from Tracy Cruel, founder and president of the nonprofit organization Brie's Gift, which supports families affected by leukemia.
Cruel shared the story of her daughter, Brielle Adrianna Cruel, who battled leukemia from 2022 to 2023. During her daughter's treatment, the family faced limited local resources for leukemia care in the Albany area.

Following Brielle's passing, Cruel established Brie's Gift to provide practical and emotional support to families navigating similar challenges. The organization offers comfort bags for patients, gas cards to help cover travel expenses, meal assistance during treatment, and financial support to help patients and caregivers travel together for medical appointments.

Moved by Cruel's story and her commitment to serving the community, several commissioners personally donated to Brie's Gift and commended her for transforming personal loss into a mission of hope and support for others.

Brie's Gift continues to serve families affected by leukemia through compassion, community and care while honoring the memory of Brielle Adrianna Cruel.
