The proposed moratorium would provide the county with an opportunity to study potential land-use, infrastructure, environmental, public safety, utility and other impacts associated with data center development. During this period, the county would also evaluate and consider appropriate zoning and land-use regulations governing such development.

If adopted, the moratorium would temporarily suspend certain applications, permits, rezoning requests, variances, special-use or conditional-use requests and other development approvals related to data centers in unincorporated Dougherty County for 180 days, as provided in the proposed resolution.

Members of the public are invited to attend the hearing and will have an opportunity to provide comments regarding the proposed temporary moratorium.
