COUNTY EXTENDS REVIEW PERIOD FOR LARGE-SCALE DATA CENTERS

The Dougherty County Board of Commissioners voted during a special called meeting Monday, Aug. 31, to extend its review period before allowing new large-scale data center development in unincorporated Dougherty County, giving county officials additional time to study potential zoning regulations, utility demands and impacts on surrounding residents and businesses.

ALBANY, Ga. - Dougherty County recognizes that the 2026 property assessment notices have generated significant questions and concerns among property owners. Receiving a notice showing a substantial change in property value can be concerning, particularly when residents are trying to determine what that change may mean for their property taxes.
