Dougherty County Board of Commissioners Extend Contract for County Attorney, Spencer Lee

DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GEORGIA – The Dougherty County Board of Commissioners will be extending Spencer Lee, County Attorney, employment for an additional six months. The long-time county attorney’s contract will now expire in June of 2022.
Earlier this year, Lee announced plans to retire his practice and tenure as County Attorney after 43 years of service. With several county projects still in the works that Lee has had an intricate part in, the Board recently made the decision to ask Lee to stay onboard until these projects are closer to completion.
With the extension of Lee’s contract, the Board of Commissioners will restart the recruitment process for a new County Attorney in the late spring of 2022.
