The Field Operations Division consists of two major divisions of the Sheriff’s Office. The divisions include Uniform Division (civil, warrants, patrol) and Criminal Investigations Division. The Field Operations Division is managed by Major Pamela Johnson. Major Johnson began her career in law enforcement with the Dougherty County Police Department as a Clerk Dispatcher in February of 1994. She later transferred to the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office in November of 1994 as a Detention Officer. She continued to receive promotions and assignments throughout the agency. As an Intake Sergeant, she supervised the admission and release processes of the Dougherty County Jail Facility, and as Support Services Division Sergeant, she supervised Central Control and Lobby Divisions of the Dougherty County Jail Facility. She also worked as a Sergeant of the Crime Prevention and Intervention of the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office and Unit Commander as a Lieutenant of the Crime Prevention and Intervention Unit. In March of 2010, she was promoted to Major of the Field Operations Division of the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office, and in 2019, she was appointed to Assistant Chief Deputy of the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office.

The Support Services Division is composed of three major divisions of the Sheriff’s Office, which include Finance and Personnel, Judicial Support, and Professional Standards and Training. This division is managed by Major Lee Cates.
